Melvin Memorial Page

Melvin, our beloved piggie died last night, February 28th, 2004.  It was sudden.  He died peacefully in his sleep.  He was 5 years old.

Melvin was a very special piggie, the motivation for a lot of what we have done over the years.  He was sweet, loving, patient and loyal to his mate.  He loved affection and would purr like a kitten when we cuddled him.  He was a weak piggie, and fought pneumonia, allergies and arthritis and still was raring to go.  He would flirt with all the girl piggies, even when he was neutered and older.

Melvin left too early, but at least it was peacefully, without suffering and in his own way.  I thank him for not placing that burden on me.  He spared all of us the dreaded though of watching him suffer or making a decision about his end.  He is now over the Rainbow Bridge with his wife Matilda, his dear friend Big Al, his other friends Patches, Florinda, Bear, Abe, Jackson, Margie and all the other piggies who live there.  Someday we will be reunited and not have to do this ever again.
